Who We Are
We are the Amateur Radio Emergency Service ("ARES") team in Pasco County, Florida. "ARES" is part of the "Amateur Radio Relay League" ("ARRL"). Organizationally, we are part of the "West Central Florida" Section of the ARRL. Pasco County is on the Central Gulf Coast of Florida, North of Tampa Bay.

ARRL

ARRL is the national association for Amateur Radio in the US. The ARRL is a noncommercial organization of radio amateurs with a proud history.

SKYWARN® storm spotters are citizens who form the first line of defense against severe weather. They give communities extra time to help save lives.

FEMA

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is an agency of the United States Department of Homeland Security,  The agency's primary purpose is to coordinate the response to a disaster that has occurred in the United States and that overwhelms the resources of local and state authorities.

NWS

The National Weather Service (NWS) is an agency of the United States federal government that is tasked with providing weather forecasts, warnings of hazardous weather, and other weather-related products to organizations and the public for the purposes of protection, safety, and general information.

NHC

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) is the division of the United States' National Weather Service responsible for tracking and predicting weather systems within the tropics.
